Dimensions variable, 6 x microbes, each 110cm-130cm long.
For the past two years I have been researching the microbiome in conversation with Professor Sian Harding from Imperial College London. The knowledge that we live symbiotically with millions of microbes has brought me to a very different understanding of what it means to be human - we are porous entities, biologically interconnected with the rest of the natural world. In this work microbial forms are rendered physically relatable. Some of them make human sounds when touched or picked up, others feature videos of toothless mouths silently opening and closing.

Examples of audio, triggered by motion in 3 of the microbes.
